Memes Away

Our Chapeau wearing friend Karen has hit me with the book meme. As a recap, here are the rules.
1. Pick up the nearest book ( of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.

Karen is reading the Exorcist which very good. A little about my reading habits. I rarely read novels, or at least I used to rarely read novels. I read novels when I am traveling. While I sometimes read weightier things when traveling, usually I prefer something light. Also when I read novels I read them straight until they are done. Not so with non-fiction. With non-fiction, I usually find myself reading several books at the same time, depending on my mood. So, as I said, I usually don't read many novels but last year was a traveling year. I traveled some 27 times last year so I read my fair share of fiction but right now I am luckily home for a few weeks. This is all a long way of saying that I am reading several things right now.

The rules called for the closest book to me and that happens to be "The Book of Destiny" by the Rev. Herman Bernard Kramer. It is a study on and interpretation of the book of Revelation. I read it many years ago and decided to revisit this year in conjunction with some other books on my list related to the same topic. Anyway, here goes.

This is very evident in Chapter VI. 1-8, where the living beings voice supreme authority at the opening of each seal. And here the impossibility of their being the evangelists is obvious. If the fourth living being were St. John, he would be on the scene in two places and in two roles at the same time (VI 7, 8)
I hate to impose the obligation to respond so please feel free to ignore me. However, if they are so inclined, I tag Jennifer, Marcel, Red Cardigan, the Bloviator, and David Alexander.
