Lesbian Activist from Georgetown is Newest Obama Nominee
So when President Obama was thinking of nominating a hard-charging lesbian activist to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission where else did he look but the faculty of the Jesuit Georgetown University.
And make no mistake, this nominee spells major trouble for Christian organizations.
The Philadelphia Bulletin reports:
President Barack Obama has nominated a lesbian activist lawyer to serve as a member of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.Feldblum, working in the EEOC would be a disaster for Christian organizations as she wrote that:
In a recent White House announcement, President Obama nominated Chai Feldblum, a professor of law (gay studies) at Georgetown University who formerly worked for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the pro-homosexual Human Rights Campaign Fund, to serve as one of five Commissioners on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. In the mid-1980s, Ms. Feldblum clerked for Supreme Court Justice Harry A. Blackmum, the liberal Supreme Court justice who authored the Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion.
“She has also worked on advancing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights and has been a leading expert on the Employment Nondiscrimination Act,” said the White House’s Sept. 14 statement.
“As a general matter, once a religious person or institution enters the stream of commerce by operating an enterprise such as a doctor’s office, hospital, bookstore, hotel, treatment center and so on, I believe the enterprise must adhere to a norm of nondiscrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.”Her point of view would seem to run counter to Obama's promise at Notre Dame to ensure conscience protections.
It's also been reported that Feldblum signed onto a radical online petition "Beyond Same-Sex Marriage: A New Strategic Vision for All Our Families and Relationships," which advocated for polygamy.
I'm doing more research into this and I'll keep you updated as I learn more. But it's pretty depressing that 1) Obama is continuing to nominate such hard core lefties and 2) he's finding them at Catholic schools.

I'm sure you find it depressing, but it's not at all surprising that Obama continues to make such appointments. I will expect nothing less for the remainder of his administration (God willing, t-minus 3 years and counting).
I went to a very well-known Jesuit University on the West Coast (it was "Catholic" in marketing only). All my history teachers and half the Poli-Sci teachers were Jewish (and atheist). The priests who taught religion were very vocal about pushing a) liberation theology and b) perceived inconsistencies in church teachings regarding abortion and homosexuality.
The fact that this woman, Jewish, leftist and lesbian comes from a Jesuit University does not surprise me in the least as it fits 100% into my own experience. I truly believe most Catholic Universities (certainly all Jesuit ones) have become forces for opposition to orthodoxy and church dogma.
I bet she's a member of NAWGLA, too!
Horrified by it all, but not surprised.
I bet she's a member of NAWGLA, too!
Even if not, logically there is no stopping point between the two. The vigorous celebrity defense of Polanski goes a long way to affirming Mark Shea's prediction that "the Church will one day be condemned for forbidding what some of her neglectful and corrupt ministers are presently condemned for having allowed."
His actions speak true to his beliefs, NOT his words!
Facta non verba
Georgetown should be ashamed to have her as a faculty member. 2010 and 2012... get rid of the weirdos!
Okay, not to be petty, but someone needs to get this poor woman an eyebrow wax, stat.
Look at it this way. Obama is doing what Catholics have failed to do: cleaning out the dreck from Catholic institutions. On the other hand that dreck will now be inflicted on every one, not just Catholics. Thy will be done? Or God saying OK, *thy* will be done?
