Abortion Clinic: "We do Sacred Work"

Northland Family Planning Centers of Michigan are advertising their services with newly created videos which calls abortion "sacred work."

Sacred? Sacred is defined as "entitled to veneration or religious respect by association with divinity or divine things; holy."

The video is part of a series of videos highlighting their abortion services and states, "We believe in the goodness of our work." The spokesperson points to a sign hanging in the abortion clinic that says "We do sacred work that honors women and the circle of life and death. When you come here bring only love."

The clinic says that abortion while being a "normal experience" and sadly that is true as there have been over 45 million abortions since its legalization as the video points out. But the spokesperson goes further and says that abortion is also "a sign of strength courage and responsibility to thoughtfully consider whether or not to bring new life into the world."

The video highlights a quote from murdered late term abortionist Dr. George Tiller and showcases it against a pink backdrop with a heart behind it while a soft piano plays in the background.

Abortion is not a cerebral or reproductive issue. Abortion is a matter of the heart. For until one understands the heart of a woman, nothing else about abortion makes any sense at all. Dr. George Tiller 1941-2009

The clinic's spokesperson assures women, "We believe you are making your decision from a place of goodness" and reminds them that "Goodness is not perfection, not obedience and it is not martyrdom. There is not one way of living a good life and sometimes we have to make hard choices."

The clinic's website tells mothers about some ways of coping with abortion including "releasing a symbolic object into the water, planting a tree or writing a poem. It would be a way for you to memorialize the day and move forward."

They also suggest writing a letter to "the spirit of the child."
Many women find they are talking to the spirit of the child inside of them. It may be useful and helpful to write your thoughts on paper. Some women write how they came to their decision, some ask for forgiveness. Some thank the spirit for the wisdom or thoughts they have had about life. Some write about the love they feel. Sometimes, having a way to say goodbye is an important part of healing.
But the clinic warns women about where to go to find answers.
"Remember: Go to factual and supportive sites. Use our Resources, or Choice Link Up. Avoid the negative traps of anti-choice sites."
I'm sure they wouldn't want their patients reading sites that don't think their clinic is quite so sacred.

Abortion is the result of the absence of love - love which is good, holy, sacred.

Update: As of 5 p.m. on Friday, it looks like the Northland clinic has pulled the video. All the attention of thousands of thousands of folks forced them to pull it. That's good news.

Update: I found another copy and posted it on Youtube.

Don't bother commenting on that video, since all comments are "moderated". What I said was that this was a weak attempt on the part of the clinic to drum up business, since there is no basis for them to determine whether all these women who chose an abortion were actually "good". By their assessment, these women are "good" simply because they chose the procedure. It's stupid and transparent.

Again, at least they're honest in being outright creepy-evil and admitting they serve a god of some sort...perhaps the killing god, since we've already taken the Living God?

I suppose it must be a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the killing god; one could easily get their head pierced by scissors that way.

I wonder if they have heysachists in abortionism? "Lord" Moloch, son of the killing god, slay my baby, a punishment...

Obama might like that kind of prayer.

On a positive note, the redheaded spokeswoman is positively cute. God did a good job there. Very beautiful. I love Irish women.

The thing that gets me is the sort of quasi-endorsement of the notion that the baby is something that can be said goodbye to...

But wait. If it can be said goodbye to, maybe it already exists...

The tactics proposed to women for saying goodbye to an aborted child all seem sound to me, but the funny thing is that (at least for most of the cases PP is taking) to even suggest such tactics undermines the morality of the service you're providing...

Gah.

Sorry, not PP.

Bad assumption on my part!

That's classic! I suppose goodness is personal flaws, stubborness, and selfishness.

Who made her an authority on goodness?

Wow. Relativism at it's best. "I'm good, you're good, we're all good. There is no objective right." I'll bet Hitler believed in the "goodness" of his work, too.

Good grief. This is disgusting. She's not interested in helping women feel good about themselves; she just wants a paycheck. They don't "honor women in the circle of life and death." They hurt women and kill their babies, and collect money from them for doing it. At least they're admitting the "death" part. Their sign should read, "We do diabolical work that degrades women and causes your baby's death. When you come here, bring only your checkbook."

Athiests are waging a campaign to sever the
connection between good and God. "No one is good
but God alone." MK 10:18. We must look to God
and obey him and his commandments to find goodness. Also MT12:33 " Either declare the tree good and its fruit is good or declare the tree rotten and its fruit is rotten for a tree is Known by its fruit."
If we are not guided by scripture we will easily
mistake evil for good.

Ugh that's creepy. Its really interesting to me though how they almost openly acknowledge that you are killing your baby. "circle of life and death" and writing a letter to the spirit of your child? If it's a child, and has a spirit, then its murder....so its good and sacred to murder your baby? Does this remind anyone of human sacrifices?

TOO creepy!! :-|

In the end times good shall be called evil and evil shall be called good.

In 1989 I was pregnant, unmarried. I had my baby! Never did abortion enter into my mind as an option. I loved my unborn baby. He is now a 20 year old college student who plays football for the college he attends, he will graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. All glory to GOD. Human life is a GIFT from GOD. To the woman in the video..... You are WRONG!!!!!Repent now while there is still time. May God have mercy on you. +JMJ

It's blasphemous, and soft tinkly piano music doesn't make it any less of an affront to God or to human dignity.

You know, instead of saying goodbye to the murdered child, why not talk to the child while still living? Seriously - if you're going to go ahead and do this "sacred work," then be really up-front and tell the unborn baby, "You will die today, and I am doing a good deed by seeking out your death. You are a burden I am scared to shoulder. I have good reasons. Trust me, I'm your mother."

Maybe that would be too honest for some folks?

What irks me most about the entire contraception/abortion issue is the "support" given to this "sacred work" by Roman Catholics who support the culture of death through union dues, through charity contributions to organizations supporting this evil, by supporting companies and consumer goods that contribute funds to evil, by voting for candidates that support evil etc., etc.,.... Why? When will we prolifers really unite and act, act, act.

Another attempt to justify the murder of a child in it's mother's womb. Like they say, you just can't fix stupid.

It is much easier to seek out a circle of people to confirm you in your sin and help you smother you conscience than it is to face the consequences of your actions. Which is the "tough choice"?

This is a perfect example of the regard abortion advocates have in women. They really think they can convince women that it is a rational choice to kill their baby. The baby is a human being, not a lump of flesh with no feeling. Videos of abortions have shown the baby trying to avoid the abortionists weapon of destruction. Anyone who can really think of this procedure as sacred, holy, etc. is either mentally unbalanced or purely evil. Scary how this society has produced so many people who no longer place a value on all life, just productive or convenient life. We are in real trouble. Could this be the slippery slope warned against by people of conscience back in 1973?

Isnt the circle of life the natural life and death cycle? That come right from the Disney movie Lion King! When you create life and artificially terminate it should that be called the "Semi-Circle of Life" ?

Goodness? Sacred? Never heard murder called that before. Are these people joking?

This is just a evil as the abortion clinic in Illinois that has the rubber chicken on the cross in one of its windows... another abortion mill insanity....I'm sure there's something else these people can find to do for a living...they are well-versed in spinning; maybe advertising?

Typical leftist insanity.... Attach any excuse for the killing of an unborn baby and you give BIRTH to a LIB ! Revulsion beyond comprehension.

What is our world coming to?? When evil can sit there and make the statement that "abortions come from the heart"!! Please help blood is shooting from my eyes. But understand one thing..no matter how GOOD Northland thinks they are doing....GOD will be the ultimate judge. Every person who worked at Northland or any abortion clinic or anyone who supports abortion will have to answer to all those aborted souls on judgement day. It will be God and all these lost souls that will determine their fate. And believers we know which way they will be going. Keep on loving and keep on speaking out against abortion. Dr. Louis Huh? , just goes to show that book smarts isn,t the same thing as commonsense smarts. BTW, your comment was pretty ignorant.

How many times did this baby killer spokesman say "good person"? I wanted to projectile vomit hearing her with the soft piano music in the backgound speaking of murdering babies as "normal". It's a good thing her momma didn't follow her "normal"urge to have her killed.

We need to pray for the woman in the video, that God will set her free from the deception of the devil, and that she will come to know God's Truth in the person of Jesus Christ.
I firmly believe that if we don't pray for a person/situation that presents itself, then we don't have the right to complain about it.

I think I'll release "a symbolic object into the water" as a way to memorialize the Northland Family Planning Centers of Michigan and move forward. Afterwards, I will flush. After all, "having a way to say goodbye is an important part of healing."

When you realize you are pregnant...you instinctively know in your HEART that a new human person is coming into existence....You can listen to all the lies they toss at you but in the middle of the night your HEART will awaken you and remind you of the life trying to "be"....wanting to be LOVED into existence....of course you can try to destroy hearing it by DRUGS, ALCOHOL, and ANTI-DEPRESSANTS.....but you could choose to give the gift of life...a profoundly amazing gift that only women are capable of giving...even if it means...giving the child the "gift" and then letting a couple love into a full life. It is also a gift that some cuoples will never be able to have. I have never watched anything so SAD in my life as the lies spoken by the Northland Clinic.

A great was to say goodbye to these babies would be to wave goodbye as they leave with loving adoptive parents!

How dark is the Ignorance of a wounded Society that uses Fantasy to avoid pain, at the cost of our most precious resource!! Oceans of "rationalizing" an absolute HORROR like Abortion doesn't negate one drop of TRUTH that MURDERS our children, all in the name of self-rights!! God help our society so blind and rebellious, that actually believes we can avoid such dire consequences!!

I will admit, I could not watch this whole video, as the feeling in my gut (and pregnant womb) was unbearable. The lies under a 'new guise' of 'love' and 'matters of the heart' are so sickening, that all I can think of is the quote from Scriptures: "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." Isaiah 5:20

Very twisted and disturbing! Talk about spin doctoring.

Although, this video spin on calling evil good reminds me a lot of how some fellow pro-lifers spin the evil of those who support the killing of babies conceived in rape, incest, or an alleged risk to the life of the mother. They spin it to make it sound like a "good" thing that some so-called pro-lifers only want to kill those babies.

Have you heard this before? "Yeah, but they support saving 99% of babies from being killed!" Or "those babies ONLY make up 1% of abortions". How twisted is that! That's like saying Hitler supported not killing 99% of the world's population so that makes him a good guy. Or that "Jews only make up less than 1% of the population". No one in their right mind would go along with those statements, then, why do some pro-lifers use the same evil spin as the woman in this video?

64% of those who are labeled as "pro-life" believe killing babies conceived in rape, incest, or for the life of the mother is a "good" thing. They are good people since they only want to kill 1% of babies. Talk about spinning. The woman in this video is the least of our problems when we have such evil tactics so wide-spread among our own troops.

Anonymous,

I think that the vast majority of pro-lifers are willing to accept, for the time being, a law that limits abortion to cases of rape, incest, or for the life of the mother, so long as it eliminates the other 99% of the cases NOW. Once that is accomplished, we can work on the remaining 1% (which will then be 100%).

Instead of an all-or-nothing approach, this starts saving lives immediately. I'd rather prevent 1.1 million abortions per year, and then work on eliminating the remaining abortions.

This video is just SICK!!! How can you push garbage like this. It is ridicules that someone can feel ok with this in any circumstance! Especially if you know the process (gruesome). I have a friend Ive know for years now, who was kidnapped and raped. She understood and respected the sanctity of life enough to not deny another the precious gift of life. That infant has grown into a beautiful little girl!!!

Unwobbling Pivot said...

(In all sarcasm:) We all now must know that it's a fetus before the abortion, but a child afterward, when it's time to try to get past what has been done.

That they do not see the abundant irony of this approach shows how truly blind they are.

Also, "abortion" for the life of the mother is not abortion. Nor is it good. It is a case where the only option is to save *at most* one of the two parties, because both cannot survive. You would try to save both if you could. That is a tragedy, but it is not an abortion. For a mother to refuse life-saving measures is heroic, yet not obligatory.

At the same time, when the pro-life side concedes the rape and incest exceptions, which have no resemblance to the above (because both are able to be saved -- nay, neither is in imminent life-threatening danger!), we undermine our entire philosophical foundation over that "little" 1%. We shatter our own credibility.

Those of you who have been in the prolife movement for some time remember when the anti-life people were dismissing unborn children as "blobs" and "parasites" that had to be excised from the body. Now they are admitting that these babies are living beings, but it's okay to kill them as long as you have the approval of the Great Options Counselor In The Sky first.

Somehow, I long for the good old days. To have people admit that it's okay to kill your own offspring -- yes kill -- for convenience is very, very scary.
