Brit Hume Tells Tiger to Embrace Christ

Many people are freaking out about this but I'm with Brit on this one. Have we gone so far down the road of relativism that it's some kind of cultural sin to say that you believe one faith is better than another?

I'm Catholic. I believe my faith is true and good. I encourage others to join. Is that wrong? Jehovah's Witnessess come to my door. I'm not mad at them. In a weird way I admire them doing it. I argue with them. In a nice way.

On the Sunday show, Brit often talks about politics. Is it ok to talk politics but not religion? I admire Brit Hume for this. When asked about Tiger he didn't make jokes. He didn't go the TMZ route and chat up the gossip. He didn't make a sports prediction. Brit is worried about the man's soul. Kudos to Brit for that.

Stolen shamelessly from Hot Air.

I agree wholeheartedly - he should embrace Christ.

Committing serially and later being caught in adultery is what turned me to Christ.

It's been nearly 4 years now and I'm still suffering the consequences temporally as is just and right.

Yet it is my faith and love for Christ and hope of eternal salvation that I now verily cling. Not my self-centered, narcissistic, and hedonistic ways.

I was awakened from my intoxication and slumber in wickedness by the light of Christ who condescended to shine his everlasting light upon my dark soul.

Gratias tibi ago, Domine!

You gotta admire Brit Hume for his forthrightness. You don't get a lot of candor from talking heads these days.

Seriously, what's the point of having a faith or beliefs if you don't think they're any good? Stand up.

Brit Hume is said to be a Christian. I don't think that faith offers any of the virtues that any other religion does. So my message to you guys, is, turn to another faith and you'll make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.

I'm speaking my mind, with candor, but since you're not "cultural relativists" I guess this post will get deleted.

I don't know. I of course agree wholeheartedly with Brit, but I wonder if this is the kind of thing that you should briefly state.

Kind of like if some honest soul came up to me and asked, "Do you not believe in women priests" and I went, "No, because Jesus didn't," and then walked away. That's the consomme of my argument, sure, but I think maybe they'd want more broth.

Brit is in a class by himself. I was very disappointed when he stepped down from the 6:30 show (Special Report) on Fox News.

I saw this the first time at the 9am show. I totally agree, but didn't realize it would be such a big deal. BTW, he's right. I've actually been praying for Tiger to get his life straightened out and for his wife to learn forgiveness.
Anonymous, we'll take that under advisement, but, nah, you're wrong. Jesus is really the best thing that ever happened to the world, so we'll just pray for you.
Britt Hume is an Anglican, goes to Church of the Apostles in Falls Church, I think, but maybe we can pray for him to swim the Tiber. When he retired he said it was to spend more time with the 3 G's, Gloria, his wife, his granddaughters and God. AnneG in NC

Britt has talked the talk. It takes courage to speak the truth. His advice comes from the heart. Tiger has sunk to the depths and until he acknowledges that God's help is what he needs, he'll not be at peace with himself. I am not ready to give up on him, so I'll pray that he has more people, who truly care about him, like Britt Hume, to encourage him to look to God for healing.

From the moment I heard of Tigers transgressions, my first thought "He doesnt know his Lord and Savior, JESUS CHRIST, therefore he is an empty vessel!". Brit Hume is a true follower of Jesus Christ. He knows' his world is not this world and is ready to risk all to spread the word of TRUTH to his fellow man. May his light continue to shine on!

Am I allowed to ask whether the NEWS program was an appropriate forum?

Thank you Britt! Tiger needs Christ more the air he inhales. Who cares about golf which is so temporary when there is the matter of his soul for all eternity.

Tiger Woods is a classic case of sexual addiction. I know because I am on the receiving end of a sexual addiction. My husband deceived me for 30 years! He is now getting help through a 12 step program and we are picking up the pieces of our marrige. I still grieve the marriage that we could have had but now with the help of this program my husband is becoming the man he always wanted to be. The lust ruled his life. Now God rules it.

Any time. Any place. Any where. Share the Good News of Christ Jesus!

Agree - Tiger suffers from sexual addiction. He put all his blessings on the line because he's addicted...also from one on the receiving end of loving someone in this snare. Things he does to try to correct his life will be well and good but it is only Christ who will make him a new creature. The ultimate answer to our pittful lives is Christ alone.

There is no guarantee that a christian would be any better at controlling loin lust than a Buddhist. On the other hand, I would look at Mrs. Tiger and see if she has given up her Lutheran heritage as many of her Swedish brothers and sisters have. Otherwise changing religions will do absolutely nothing.

Tiger has to look inward before he can deal with the externals. I commend Brit for offering this advice.

You know the old saying, "if you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything"

This was NOT on a "news" show it was on a political OPINION show and he was asked for his OPINION. I wish people would learn the difference between NEWS and OPINION.

Thank you, Brit, for speaking the TRUTH. What you said about at the name of Jesus Christ "all hell breaks loose" is so true. So many non believers make sure to yell out criticism, but we know that in time "every knee shall BOW at the name of JESUS CHRIST and every tongue CONFESS that he is LORD". Thank you for your courage.

Was a NEWS program an appropriate place for that kind of preaching?
