These days, people say "Season's Greetings," which, when you think about it, means nothing. It's like walking up to somebody and saying "Appropriate Remark" in a loud, cheerful voice.

come on Early riser- it is funny! If it is Fundie- I guess they are still ok with getting rid of that troublesome part of the Bible when Jesus talks about "This is my Body...."

I know this church but I know it by another name "the church of England." or "of Tudor."

I don't think that's funny. People Live that way it's a sure way to the Abandoning of Jesus. Why go to a progressive church (at least their's a chance someone will change through Our Prayers for them) when to many Catholics/ Bishops/Priests already say some of those are ok. A large number of Catholics (other religions)seem to forget Jesus' words The Father's Will not mine be done! We Catholics don't seem to understand that what's Wrong with the World is a Large number of Catholics live according to the world's will, Satan! Respectfully with Love, Joseph J. Pippet

I find it mildly irritating. Their sense of humour/sarcasm is based on the illusion that their church is one of the many "true" churches. In fact all churches (make that faith communities) other than the RC church are progressive to a greater or lesser degree
But I'm oldish and already grumpy.....

What they are saying is that no matter what church/religion people 'belong' to unless you come with a pure and obedient heart, willing to listen and obey God, you might as well make up a religion of your own because you are going to do what you want anyway - on your own.

It is not "Progressive Church" it is "Suggestive Church" because most people think that the Commantments and dogma of their religion is just that - only a suggestion or rule of thumb to live by.

it's not "evelution" of the churches, it's "Devilution"!
don't people see they only get FARTHER from the Truth as time goes by? The next generation will base their "beliefs" on what THIS generation has claimed to be true! And so on and so on, till the Truth no longer even resembles the Truth. Today's belief: do as you want, you'll still get to Heaven.
