Forgive The Expression "Christmas Party?"

These people are insane. There is no other way to say it.

In their feeble little liberal minds, to even say the word Christmas is so offensive that it must be apologized for in advance.

Nina Totenberg of NPR appeared on Inside Washington this weekend. On the show she made the following remark without the least bit of levity or irony. She really does think it is offensive.

“I was at – forgive the expression – a Christmas party,”

Yes. She asked for forgiveness for saying the phrase "Christmas Party." I am not kidding.

Well, these agencies, including the Defense Department, don't know how much money they've got and for what. And I was at – forgive the expression – a Christmas party at the Department of Justice and people actually were really worried about this.
These people are insane!

Remember, she is the one who didn't get fired from NPR.

Thanks to Newsbusters for the story!

The "War on Christmas" crowd is now assailing the hallowed tradition of the office Christmas party?!

What will office workers be left with if they are no longer allowed to perform the sacred rituals of drinking excessively and dancing on their desks before Christmas arrives?

What is wrong with these people?

Gawker has written about a "science-y" assault on the true meaning of the Christmas party, as well:

A manifestation of a post-Christian tendency. Unlike Europe, we have the Bible belt and the Midwest and not that many koranimals. So, we won't be post-Christian even if the Liberals try to push us there.

America cannot be a "post-Christian country. America is founded on the belief in God, OUR CREATOR and endowed in all unalienable civil rights. America relies upon 'DIVINE PROVIDENCE' The atheist perjured herself at the Supreme Court who told her she could go "her own way". Mob Mentality denied all people access to their freedom to express their Faith, speak and assemble peaceably. The MOB took over the public square, denying everyone a share in the public discourse, oppressing the Catholic Church, incorporated as a NON-PROFIT and demands settlement from them for what the atheist has caused by removing God from the public.

Craig, don't be obtuse. Totenberg was apologizing for saying "Christmas", nothing more, nothing less.

maybe she was apologizing for going to a Christmas party during Advent? Maybe she understands that it is an oxymoron to go to a "Christmas party" before Dec. 25.

She was apologizing because she was in fear of losing her liberal cred.

I'm upset that either liberal seculars or devout religious would be so outraged at a few words from one obviously biased reporter. Reasonable discussion on the topic would be refreshing......Steve, JFK CATHOLIC 98
