Fr. Pfleger Supporters Rally at Cardinal's Residence

I guess we should've seen this coming. Supporters of Fr. Pfleger protested outside the Cardinal's residence. The crowd was upset at the Cardinal's suspension of Father Michael Pfleger from ministry duties at St Sabina. Pfleger had previously said that he would consider leaving the Catholic church if he didn't like his reassignment. Let's hope there's a happy ending to this madness. I'm not predicting one but I will pray for one.

Happy ending, a heretical liberal priest is dismissed. Woo, I'm happy!

That's the problem for the Church in a democratic society. No respect for any authority but the individual. It is an offense against the instituted order of things. A sinful rebellion fueled by pride.

Its a non-event. The call went out to "veteran activists" in hte neighborhood to attend and they were bussed to the rally. Ridiculously low turn-out for this. All is well.

One word to Fr. Pfleger and those of his flock joined to his protest: submit! Submit to the authority of Christ residing in His Church. Let's pray that Fr. Pfleger and members of his flock tone things down, take a step back and do what is asked of them by the Church.

Protesting...it's what dissidents do best. It's disturbing to see people being misled by a liturgical Vanilla Ice.

Dear Lord, now I've got a mental image of the Vanilla Ice "Go ninja, go ninja go!" scene in that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Pfleger's hair the few times I've seen him on TV doesn't help. >.<

Is it even legal to picket a private residence?

Perhaps the picketers could make it a nice white picket. Of course there are also wrought-iron pickets which may be more appropriate to the house's architectural style; certainly less maintenance for His Eminence - certainly less maintenance than Pastor Phelger.

Wrong headline. Should be "Parishioners join Fr. Pfleger in disobedience to Holy Mother Church".

Pride, arrogance, personal will and (very sadly) possibly lead their hearts to separation from Christ's true church (if that is not already what has happened).

Let them protest, and eat cake.

In the end, they'll have to either obey or realise that they aren't Catholic.

I can't imagine George caving in after the strong words used in his letter to the nutty priest.

Good riddance to him, it was his choice!!

His ego is bigger than the church, he was a bad captain and dismissal was the only option!
