Yes, You Really Do Hate God

Last week after the NBC pledge of allegiance debacle, Missouri congressman and Republican Senate candidate Todd Akin said this.

Akin: This was something that was done systematically, it was done intentionally, and is tremendously corrosive in terms of all of the values and everything that’s made America unique and such a special nation.

Perkins: Why would NBC do this?

Akin: Well, I think NBC has a long record of being very liberal and at the heart of liberalism really is a hatred for God and a belief that government should replace God. And so they’ve had a long history of not being at all favorable toward many of things that have been such a blessing to our country.

Akin: This is a systematic effort to try to separate our faith and God, which is a source in our belief in individual liberties, from our country. And when you do that you tear the heart out of our country.
Liberal groups flipped. One in particular, a 'religious group' that advocates 'killing babies' demanded he apologize. To which Rep. Akin has responded, "No."

How would people hate something that they don't even believe exists. What they probably hate are the hateful tactics of people who wear their religion on their sleeves ONLY when it's convenient and accommodates their concern of the moment. Conservative trolls parading around as a bunch of liberal loons (like the abortion stew wierdo - Anonymous 9:57)doesn't do much for the dwindling "values voters" who are losing the culture wars. This is not a civil war. This is not a culture war. It's the powers and principalities, stupid.

Good on him!

The handful of religious liberals cited in the article don't realize they're just filling the role of "useful idiots."

Good on ya, Mr. Akin, for not caving to demands for a (symbolic) apology. Let them stew, seethe, and stop their feet but NEVER apologize for speaking the truth. If I were a Missourian, he'd have my vote.

G.K. Chesterton said that nature is not our mother with parental authority over man, but nature is our sister, with love and affection for man, another creation of God. Now, the goddess Gaia considers the human race to be parasites, oh, except for Gaia's priestesses. Priestesses appoint themselves your neighborhood anti-human being tyrant. Can't wait to join? I wonder what Gaia thinks of Obama and his use of Air Force One, every other day?

I second his "NO!"! We need to support and back up his attitude. No apologies required.

Oops--just read that he backed down and apologized. Disappointed in him. It was not needed. How come they can say anything they please, never apologize and our side rushes to do so. Cowardly!!
