No Mention of God in Obama's 9/11 Proclamation

*subhead*Surprise? Not.*subhead*
What a shock from the president who said "we are no longer a Christian nation" and drops "God" from the Declaration of Independence and oversaw the removal of God from the DNC platform.

Now Obama doesn't mention God in his 9-11 proclamation. It's almost like he's anti-religion or something.

Pat Dollard has the story:
Obama’s proclamation marking the September 11th terrorist attacks did not include any mention of God. The president also failed to note how Americans sought solace in their religion in the aftermath of the Al-Qaeda attacks. “But as we mark the anniversary of September 11, we remember what remains the same: our character as a nation, our faith in one another, and our legacy as a country strengthened by service and selflessness,” the president wrote.

Instead, the president called on Americans to participate in community service to honor those who were lost.

There was no specific mention of prayer but he did call for the nation to observe a moment of silence tomorrow morning.
This administration is employing a war on religion. He must be stopped.

If I were of the snarky persuasion, I might be apt to say, that someday in the future, God may omit mentioning Obama's name...

No surprises in that, anyway. We can pray and remember how it really was without a pep talk from the head of state.

Obama is cowering under the emasculation by the American Civil Liberties Union, the atheist group that will deny your freedom of religion, but cannot bring back the victims of 9/11 to life. Obama will deny your freedom of religion, but Obama, too, cannot bring back the vicitms who died in 9/11. Obama should at least let God try.

The community service thing makes me really mad. Does anyone tell you to go out to do community service on Veterans Day? On D-Day? You're supposed to remember and honor the dead on Sept. 11, it's not a sadder "Make a Difference Day." Ostentatious and holier-than-thou. Like many Americans, I volunteer all the time. I don't need a special day -- and especially not THAT day.

I strongly suggest all of you watch the film, "2016: Obama's America." It does a great job of summarizing the forces that shaped him (none of them Christian, btw). I watched it in a theater that attracted about 20-25 people. When it ended, half of them applauded.

It would have been nice to mention God and even more fitting to add a call to prayer. I don’t know if this is how he really feels about God. For all I know he may have deep religious convictions. The problem is that I don’t know. It seems that he either doesn’t want to upset the secular progressives or he wants to avoid offending people by siding with one religion. He would find that people admire convictions – even if they are wrong. If he believes in God as he has claimed, he should not diminish that fact by omitting God as above. If he doesn’t really believe in God in a meaningful way, he should make that clear. His secular progressives would support him all the more.

I'm watching the 9/11 Commemoration live on C-Span. The President may not mention God, but the families, the PEOPLE, are.

George W Bush never said "God" in his 9/11 proclamation speeches in 2006, 2007, or 2008. Obama merely followed the precedent. Also, he asked people to prayer for the families and victims of 9/11 when he declared September 7th to the 9th National Days of Prayer and Remembrance.

I explained to my sons that no, this is not a day for "service". It's a day to remember those who were killed and to remember WHO did it, and what "religion" guided them to do it.
I'm doing my part.
