CBO: Late-Term Abortions Saves Gov't Money

Everything has a pricetag. And now so does every one.

CNS News reports:

Unborn babies who have reached at least 20 weeks of age in utero are aborted at a rate of about 30 per day in the United States, according to the Congressional Budget Office. The CBO has also concluded that aborting babies at 20 weeks or later in pregnancy saves money for the government-run federal-state Medicaid system.

The CBO made these determinations when doing its official “Cost Estimate” of a federal bill that would prohibit abortions at 20 weeks or later into pregnancy (except in cases of reported rape, incest against a minor or to save the life of the mother).

“Based on data compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), CBO estimates that, each year, about 11,000 abortions take place 20 weeks or more after fertilization,” said the CBO’s analysis of H.R. 1797, the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act...

“H.R. 1790 would result in increased spending for Medicaid,” says CBO. “Since a portion of Medicaid is paid for by state governments, CBO estimates that state spending on the program would increase by about $170 million over the 2014-2023 period.”
Somehow, the CBO states that 30 late-term abortions a day is "relatively small."

Relative to what? That's a heckuva' lot higher than the murder rate in Detroit and believe me that ain't relatively small.

This reminds me of those who are cool with sterilizing women on welfare because it'll be a great cost-cutting measure. Or that's why we're now cool with starving the elderly. Because it makes smart fiscal sense. You're not going to get anything productive out of them anymore so they're just seen as a loss leader. You see, with big government the humanity gets lost.

It's just horrible.

Unbelievable, how can anyone write an article like that and not feeling absurdity?

Yesssurreeee!, go figure?
It all makes as much sense as a hospital removing organs while the patient is still "alive"!
How could anyone imagine opening their eyes on a surgical table, to a donor recovery team getting ready to harvest your organs.
Talk about "anticipated" outcome based care!
Wanted more dead than alive and they'll make sure!
Waiting "patiently" for the day when it's the decision makers' turn to be on the receiving end of their policies!
There are "no" elites when it comes to dying.
Death is the ultimate equal opportunity experience.
It's the kind of thing that makes you go, huuummm..

By the way,

That baby on the beach, is "waaay" cute!

And what is the price tag again for all the tax dollars paying for contraception, sterilization, and abortion every day???

Funny. When it comes to my right to own guns, it's "If it saves just one life". Let that "relatively small" number of deaths per day get moved over to handguns and watch liberal heads explode.

Of course, late-term abortions save government money! Where do you think health care is going, people? Once single-payer becomes the only care available in the United States (and Obamacare is nothing but a stalking horse for single-payer), all doctors, nurses and professional caregivers will become government bureaucrats whose prospects for career advancement will rest upon how much government money they save. That will mean sacrificing the elderly, the chronically ill, the unborn and the newborn on the altar of "cost effectiveness."

It's happening in Britain as we speak, thanks to the National Health Service:

The bishops' piddling about the HHS mandate shows just how clueless they are about the dangers facing American health care -- and, by extension, every one of us!

On a nit-picking note: the murder rate in Detroit is about 1 murder each day per 700,000 residents. An abortion rate of 30 each day per 300,000,000 US residents is lower, although not by much. It ridiculous to call it "low"; by anyone's standards the murder rate in Detroit is abysmal.

Of course, indeed. When a “budget” is too big, why, it has to be cut. When people are the budget, well, it's gotta be cut none the less. And them it's a government bureaucrat who decides who lives and who dies.

The inaction of the USCCB is disgraceful. But, then what's to be expected when that organization permits dissident laypersons to remain in key positions, andoesn't sanction disobedient prelates. The keystone-coplike ineptitude doesn't end there. They are clueless on the economy, too. Most of those guys were trained in the 60'sand 70s: The solution to any problem is to throw money at it.
