Most Embarrasingly Biased Pope Francis Headline and Story...Yet

Reuters published a story on Pope Francis' recent comments about abortion. There headline and lede are just too perfect as they highlight the fact that the media just doesn't understand Christianity at all.

In his speech to diplomats at The Vatican, Pope Francis said, "It is horrific even to think that there are children, victims of abortion, who will never see the light of day."

Here's the headline that Reuters gave the Pope's condemnation of abortion:

Pope, in nod to conservatives, calls abortion "horrific"
You see, abortion isn't horrific. The pope just said that as a political ploy to assuage those lunatic pro-lifers.

But if you think that's the most ridiculous part of the story, it's not. Get ready for this sentence about the pope and "conservative Catholics."
"His stance favouring mercy over condemnation has disoriented conservative Catholics."
What an embarrassing story.

What I notice is that it's not that they don't understand Catholicism. It's not that they don't understand Christianity. It's that they don't understand religious faith, period.

How wonderful of Pope Francis to invent the Sacrament of Confession! What a curious new thing!
