The Hairs on Your Head

My seven year old looked up from one of the books she was reading at the kitchen table. She said, "Dad, did you know that God counts all the hairs on your head."

"I did," I told her.

"Well, he doesn't have to count very high for you. I think God has to pay a lot more attention to me."

"Knowing you," I told her, "I'd bet he feels that he has to spend a lot more attention on you."

The eleven year old appreciated my little joke. The seven year old didn't get it but she was smart enough to know she'd been insulted. But the boy was still laughing that she called me bald and they sat there together reading and giggling.
