Proving that Polls Lie, Pew Says Congress 92% Christian

I don't trust polls about sex or religion.

The Washington Post reports that Pew says 92 percent of congress is Christian. Does anyone actually believe that?

Pew Forum published its study of The Religious Composition of the new 114th Congress. It is 57.2% Protestant; 30.7% Catholic; 5.2% Jewish; 3% Mormon. Other faiths represented include Orthodox Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu and Unitarian-Universalist.

Interestingly, they say that only 1 member of the incoming Congress is listed as Unaffiliated, while 20% of American adults say they are unaffiliated.

But all that says is that America is still enough of a Christian country that politicians feel they have to lie about being a Christian. That's all it says.

Look, I have a hard time convincing myself that someone who supports partial birth abortion hits their knees at night before going to bed. I just have a hard time seeing it. But it's impossible to know what lies in people's hearts, I guess. I'm not speculating about individuals here. I'm just saying that there's no way that the party that booed God is still sending a super majority of Christians to Congress.
