Brit NHS Systematically Starving Babies To Death

Remember at the opening of the Olympics when we got to watch a whole show celebrating the British National Health Service as a model of compassion.

Then we got to listen to progressives tell us how much more civil and compassionate such a system is.

Well, this is the same system that systematically starves and dehydrates sickly newborns until they are ‘smaller and shrunken’ and then die.

Yes, along with 'terminally ill adults' they are now refusing food and fluid to sickly newborns. This is monstrous and this is our future. Nazis with nice manners.

The Daily Mail reports:
Sick children are being discharged from NHS hospitals to die at home or in hospices on controversial ‘death pathways’.

Until now, end of life regime the Liverpool Care Pathway was thought to have involved only elderly and terminally-ill adults.

But the Mail can reveal the practice of withdrawing food and fluid by tube is being used on young patients as well as severely disabled newborn babies.

One doctor has admitted starving and dehydrating ten babies to death in the neonatal unit of one hospital alone.

Writing in a leading medical journal, the physician revealed the process can take an average of ten days during which a baby becomes ‘smaller and shrunken’.

The LCP – on which 130,000 elderly and terminally-ill adult patients die each year – is now the subject of an independent inquiry ordered by ministers.

The use of end of life care methods on disabled newborn babies was revealed in the doctors’ bible, the British Medical Journal.

Earlier this month, an un-named doctor wrote of the agony of watching the protracted deaths of babies. The doctor described one case of a baby born with ‘a lengthy list of unexpected congenital anomalies’, whose parents agreed to put it on the pathway.

The doctor wrote: ‘They wish for their child to die quickly once the feeding and fluids are stopped. They wish for pneumonia. They wish for no suffering. They wish for no visible changes to their precious baby.

‘Their wishes, however, are not consistent with my experience. Survival is often much longer than most physicians think; reflecting on my previous patients, the median time from withdrawal of hydration to death was ten days.

‘Parents and care teams are unprepared for the sometimes severe changes that they will witness in the child’s physical appearance as severe dehydration ensues.

  1. Monstrous. And then they complain about having to witness the effects on a baby of being deprived even water, never mind basic nutrition. This is institutionalised murder and torture. This is what State-controlled "medicine" always degrades to.

  2. The revulsion the Dr feels is the last echo of his dying conscience - so ugly.

  3. This is not particularly a weakness of institutionalised (public or state-funded) medicine. It is a by-product of a severing of a culture's connection to reality, to objective moral norms and it's enslavement to a narrow definition of 'reason'. The tragedy is that even those who still have a conscience within this evil system will in all likelihood use it to argue for direct euthanasia i.e. murder. The denial of objective morality inevitably leads to vilest crimes.

  4. Reading this is devestating to me. Just two years ago my wife and I lost our 10-day old healthy little boy. It makes me want to cry out. I want to fly there and take all these beautiful children home with me and care for them. Even the parents know that this is wrong. They can't even watch the horrible process play out. What on earth makes people think this is ok?

  5. So, if I'm reading this correctly, the problem is not that disabled or ill babies are being killed, the problem is that it is ugly to watch?!?!

Diabolical. I guess this paves the way for 'compassionate' ways to end a baby's life, with no inconvenient guilty feelings for the doctors or parents.

Anders, my heart and prayers go out to you.

  6. I feel like my heart was just put in a blender. Devastating. My brain can't process that type of evil.

  7. Meanwhile in Canada...

  8. Perhaps we need to start an adopt a british child charity, for all slated for baby death row.

  9. Ditto what Paige said. God help us all.

  10. "Until now... was thought to have involved only elderly and terminally-ill adults"

And that is supposed to be okay? What is the matter with Great Britain?

  11. eventually some doctor will say that starving a baby to death is too cruel and that a dose of morphine is kinder. He will not be shouted down.
