That Strange Post On Latin
The other day I read an article at Catholic Culture arguing against the use of Latin in the Church and liturgy. I must admit that the article was a real head scratcher for me as I didn't expect to read something so fundamentally flawed from someone like Dr. Jeff Mirus. I have for the last days considered addressing the post.
Luckily for me, saving me time and energy, Steve Skojec at One Peter Five has done a much better job of addressing the flaws in it than I could. And while I rely on Steve to do the heavy lifting here, Steve relied on Pope St. John XXIII to do the real work.
Whether you think Latin is done or the future, I think you should read Steve's article as it addresses what the Church thinks about Latin.
