Unbelievable Easter Tradition. Two Churches Shoot Rockets at Each Other's Bell Tower

You just can't make this stuff up. This is just insane but they've been doing it for centuries so who am I to judge. Rouketopolemos (which means"rocket war") is held annually at Easter in the town of Vrontados on the Greek island of Chios. Two rival church congregations fire tens of thousands of home-made rockets across a huge ravine at the other church, with the objective of hitting the bell tower.

They count up the number of hits in the morning, I think, and declare a winner. However, invariably, both side declare victory so everyone's happy. Seems a lot of tourists go check out this insane custom every year.
