Twitter Mob/ Churnalists Descend on Stupid Actor For Speaking Truth about Islam

Actor Jeff Goldblum became a topic of discussion on social media for his questions about Islam's treatment of the LGBTQ community and women during Friday's episode of "RuPaul’s Drag Race."

Goldblum's questions came after contestant Jackie Cox walked the runway in a patriotic red and white striped kaftan and a blue hijab outlined with 50 stars for the show's "Stars & Stripes" theme.

"You can be Middle-Eastern, you can be Muslim and you can still be American," Cox, who is of Iranian heritage, said in a voiceover.

The "Jurassic World 3" star, who served as a guest judge during the episode, asked Cox if she was religious.

"I'm not, and, to be honest, this outfit really represents the importance that visibility for people of religious minorities need to have in this country," Cox replied.

Goldblum continued asking Cox about her religion's stance on the LGBTQ community and women.

"Is there something in that religion that is anti-homosexuality and anti-woman? Does that complicate the issue?" the actor asked. "I'm just raising it and thinking out loud and maybe being stupid."

Insert backlash here.

One, this is an example of churnalism today. From what sources do they get their story from? Twitter. These people live on Twitter and they think Twitter is life. It used to be journalists' time at their desk was wasted. To be a reporter you had to be out and about in the world. Now, they think sitting their asses in front of their laptop is their window into real life. They don't need to leave the confines of their ergonomically enhanced chair to encounter the world.

And here's the other thing. Nothing Goldblum said was controversial. At all. Active homosexuals are tossed from the tops of buildings in the Middle East so yeah, I think that qualifies as discrimination. I wonder if the guy getting tossed from the building yells at his assailants, should that be considered anti-Islamic too?

And one last thing, let's be honest here. If Goldblum had said similar things about Christianity being anti-gay, there wouldn't be an eyebrow raised. There would be huzzahs for Goldblum speaking truth to power or something.

Because when the left rates victimhood, active homosexuals just don't rank as high as Muslims.
